TAMPA, Fla. – No. 10 Alabama struggled offensively but came away with a 17-3 win over USF on Saturday in a game that was much closer than the score indicates. The Crimson Tide started Notre Dame transfer Tyler Buchner at quarterback, but he was pulled after just 14 pass attempts and 34 yards. Redshirt freshman Ty Simpson took over and led Alabama on a touchdown drive in the third quarter. Alabama's defense was the star of the show, holding USF to just 207 total yards. The Bulls did not cross midfield until the fourth quarter. Alabama's Offense Struggles Alabama's offense has been inconsistent all season, and that continued against USF.
